Long Way Home
After receiving an MS in Conservation Biology in 2007 Elizabeth began serving as board president for the non-profit Long Way Home (www.lwhome.org) and joining the organization in its infancy.
Long Way Home uses sustainable design and materials to construct self-sufficient schools that promote education, employment and environmental stewardship. Elizabeth is passionate about the accomplishments of this non-profit now finishing a school in Guatemala. The school has 81 students enrolled in grades K through 8th grade.
LWH is the perfect marriage of grass-roots community development and environmental stewardship, bringing green jobs and economic hope to a neglected corner of the world.
